The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is a solid package, retaining the charm and entertainment of previous entries. It’s not the series’ best, but there’s plenty to keep you entertained as you work your way through case after case. The new scenery and characters made things feel fresh, but playing another Ace Attorney game also felt a bit like coming home.gameinformer – kimberley wallace

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles may just be a deviation from the main series that explores a whimsical time period with the opportunity to experiment with different ideas, but by the end of it, I found myself completely and utterly attached to its cast of characters. The chemistry between the main characters is electric, and pacing issues aside, there’s just no denying the narrative strength of both games as a complete package. Even with the absence of Phoenix Wright, The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is a bold step forward for the series and a crystallization of what makes it so special.Twinfinite – Zhiqing wan

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is a delicious treat for Ace Attorney fans who’ve been waiting for these games to release in the West for years. Given its nature as prequel spinoff set over a century before the first game though, it’s also a great entry point for newcomers to the series. In total, I spent over 60 hours on the duology, and I had a wonderful time from beginning to end. It’s been a long wait, but The Great Ace Attorney is absolutely worth all those years of anticipation.gamingbolt – Shubhankar parijat

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is two brilliant games for the price of one, and it not only gives us more of what we love, but gives us something that is visually, narratively, and historically deeper than ever before. There’s a bit of a learning curve that you’ll have to get on top of to meet the game where it’s at, but honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better version of the game we’ve been wanting for years.Nintendo LIfe – Kate gray

The Great Ace Attorney is a duology that any fan of the series should play and also serves as a great entry point for newcomers. Whether it’s the great new story and characters, the high quality slate of cases, or the new mechanics that help break the usual mold of the series, there’s very little to dislike about this fantastic spinoff.gaming trend – Travis Northup

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles has all the hallmarks of the Ace Attorney series, with excellent characters and brilliant writing through the duology’s ten cases, but there’s some clever flourishes that make the story and gameplay far more interesting and enjoyable. The only objection we have is that it took far too long for these excellent Victorian adventures to reach the West!tsa – reuben mount

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is, well, great Ace Attorney. The typical gameplay is embellished with some interesting new wrinkles, but it’s the cast of characters and compelling narrative that make this a worthy spin-off. The story told across the pair of games is intriguing, you’ll grow to love most of the characters, and there are some cracking, memorable cases to solve. This duo of games isn’t doing much to push the franchise forward, but it’s a very worthwhile adventure nonetheless. A great place to start for newcomers and a fascinating alternate story for fans, should you give this a shot? The answer is elementary.push square – stephen tailby

Although The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles has dozens of hours of content spread across two games and 10 cases (as well as some bonus mini side cases), many of the game’s cases are lacking. They don’t feel as dire or blood-pumping as previous cases from the original trilogy. New players will surely find enjoyment in the variety of the cases themselves and the satisfaction that comes with it, but veterans might be disappointed in how some play out.
All in all, The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is a wonderful entry point for players fresh to the franchise. The main cast of characters is charming and bursting with personality, even without voice acting; there are so many entertaining cases to go through, and the courtroom dramatics will keep players mostly intrigued and on their toes. The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles isn’t the best pair of Ace Attorney games out there, but they will still provide players with an enjoyable experience that will last for many, many hours.gamerant – reysun morales

I love the melodramatic theatre of the Ace Attorney series, and choosing to focus on the conflict between London’s orderly reputation and the grim reality of this city, full of secrets and criminals underneath its floorboards, is a welcome addition to the series.
But I really play these games for the mystery. There have been some cases in previous games where I’ve felt completely involved, making sure all the clues are meticulously analysed and putting all the pieces together for a final, satisfying revelation. I didn’t get those revelations in The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles. With all the new systems and scandalous story twists and turns, I think it loses that important feeling. There’s lots more to do and the game’s presentation is gorgeous, but the core mystery of finding out ‘whodunnit’ can get a little lost amidst all the dramatics.pc gamer – rachel watts
