Funimation and Aniplex of America recently announced that the Demon Slayer movie will officially hit theaters in US and Canada on April 23, 2021. In addition, the film will be available digitally on June 22, 2021 on Apple TV, Amazon, Google Play, Microsoft Store, PSN Store, and Vudu.

According to the Funimation Blog, the story is set after the events of the television anime series, Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train has Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke embark on a new mission. Together with one of the most powerful swordsmen of the Demon Slayer Corps, Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku, they investigate the mysterious disappearance of over 40 people aboard the Mugen Train.

The film was released in Japan in October 2020 and earned over 1,268,724,700 yen on it’s opening day. The film is R-rated in US and Canada. The film only received a PG-12 (PG-13 in the US) rating in Japan.
